Medium Term Accommodation (MTA) under the NDIS is designed to provide a supportive and comfortable environment for individuals with disabilities during their transition to long-term housing. Participants can access various disability-related supports, such as personal care assistance and skill-building activities, ensuring a holistic approach to their needs.
What is MTA respite care?
Medium Term Accommodation provides temporary housing solutions for NDIS participants who cannot move into their permanent homes immediately due to various reasons, such as waiting for disability support to be ready or home modifications to be completed. Typically, MTA is funded for a duration of up to 90 days, but extensions may be granted based on individual circumstances.
One of the home and living assistance that NDIS funds is called medium-term accommodation. It is funding for a place to live if you cannot move into your long-term home because the homes are not yet ready.
